Imo APC primaries: Hope Uzodinma beats Okorocha’s son-in-law, Uche Nwosu

Senator Hope Uzodinma has beaten Governor Rochas Okorocha’s son-in-law, Uche Nwosu to win the APC governorship ticket.

Uzodinma recorded 423,895 votes to pick the All Progressives Congress party’s ticket in the election conducted on Tuesday.

Nwosu came seventh with just 10,329 votes.

The result was signed by the returning officer, Ahmed Ali Gulak.

There are reports that Gulak disappeared from his hotel room and his whereabouts unknown.

This was after he had addressed newsmen about 11.30 Monday night, where he announced the postponement of the election to Tuesday.

Gulak was said to have abandoned his hotel room, leaving other members of the committee behind.

Same yesterday, campaign vehicles belonging to Rochas Okorocha’s son in-law were burnt by Imo youths.

It was gathered that the Imo youths from Amaike Community, went off on a rampage as they alleged that supporters of governor Rochas Okorocha’s son-in-law and anointed aspirant for Imo 2019 gubernatorial election were imposing the candidate on them.

Three branded campaign vehicles for Uche Nwosu Campaign Organisation at Amaike Primary School in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State, were burnt in the violence that erupted.
