You recall, Williams lost to Naomi Osaka in Saturday’s final.

Serena clashed with chair umpire Ramos, demanding an apology after he initially issued a warning for a code violation in the second set’s second game for receiving coaching, which is not allowed during Grand Slam matches.

Williams objected right away, saying she would never cheat.

However, after the match ended, Williams’ coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, in an interview with ESPN, acknowledged he had tried to signal Williams, but said he didn’t think she had seen him – and added that he thinks every player gets coaching during matches.

Naomi Osaka had won the U.S. Open to become the first Grand Slam champion from Japan, beating Williams 6-2, 6-4.

As we reported HERE, Serena was penalized several times during the match against Naomi Osaka.

When it was time to receive her trophy, Osaka did to a chorus of boos from the crowd while Williams was obviously upset during the press conference after the match.
Serena believes she was only penalized because she was a woman.
